Phase A–Add A ingredients under propeller mixing and heat to 75°C. Phase B–In a separate vessel, add B with continuous mixing and heat to 75°C. At desired temperature, increase mixing speed and add B slowly to A. Discontinue heat and cool to 60°C. Phase C–Add C to AB with mixing at 500 rpm until the solution becomes uniform and slightly viscous. Continue to cool to 40°C. Phase D–Add D to ABC. Cool to 25-30°C and transfer to holding vessel.
pH—5.5-6.0; Viscosity—spindle 6 at 20 rpm = 20,000-25,000 cst. Calculated SPF 15.
